Concert Across America to End Gun Violence

In Chicago, we will be holding our Concert Across America at Wire in Berwyn, Illinois. www.wireismusic.com Beginning at 4:00 p.m., the show will feature performances by School of Rock Oak Park, a singer/songwriter showcase featuring Blake Christiana (Yarn/NC) Terry White (Cannonball/Chicago) and others, and will be headlined by Chicago’s own Tributosaurus doing the songs of Neil Young. We are expecting participation from local politicians and activists, and frank conversation about the problem of gun violence in our community. We expect a sold-out crowd (450) and the event will be linked to others that evening through social media, accessing a combined social media network of our non-profit partners expected to exceed 500,000. We have set a goal of raising $20,000, and net proceeds from the show will benefit Peace Hub Chicago and the Institute for Non-Violence-Chicago, two local organizations working on the front lines of this problem in the Austin neighborhood and Greater Chicagoland.
