The Veltway is gearing up to bring Berwyn a weekend chock full of music, merriment great food & drink in celebration of the International Make MusicDay a worldwide celebration of the gift of music.  The festivities kick off at Euclid and Roosevelt on Friday, June 21st in tandem with the Summer Solstice, continues at Outtaspace on Saturday and conclude at Autre Monde on Sunday Night. Below are all the fun details of each event.

 

Friday  June 21st- 5th Annual Make Music Day Celebration
This is a free event and open for the public to come to Veltway Square (Euclid Avenue south from Roosevelt Road) for free musical performances from 11AM – 4PM.  There will also be live music and entertainment all along the Veltway at the music venues including Fitzgerald’s, Friendly Tap and Wire.  The event kicks off with a welcome ceremony at 11 AM with an afternoon of music to follow in the square including The Veltway All Stars, Cheryl Tomblin, The Erf beats and CPR.  Music will continue into the even inside the venues.  For a full schedule visit The Veltway

On Saturday the Veltway takes the show on the road to South Berwyn’s Favorite Art & Music Venue Outtaspace.  From 9-12PM there will by Live Music including The Veltway All Stars, the Frank Guinness Band and a surprise guest.

Sunday, June 23rd
On Sunday evening the weekend concludes by bringing things home to The Veltway for an evening of soul food, cocktails and music.  The Autre Monde patio will host a Sunday Summer “Soulstice” featuring Soul Food specials from Chefs Beth Partridge & Dan Pancake, soul inspired cocktails and of course Soul music being spun all evening by local DJ Sean Cassin.  This is a night not to be missed, rain or shine, reservations recommended but walk ins are welcome as space permits.
